Park Hill’s Social Network
I’m Ryan Hunter and I love Park Hill! My wife, Christine, and I fell in love with the neighborhood after visiting my sister-in-law’s family. We moved to Park Hill permanently in 2005 and cannot imagine living anywhere else. For us, Park Hill is the perfect mix a small-town community in an urban setting. We love the people, the homes and the trees!
In 2008, our good friend, Kim McGrigg, sent me an email asking me, if I knew how to set up a Facebook Group and could I help her set up a group for Park Hill. In just a few minutes the Park Hill Neighborhood Facebook Group was born. In the years since then Facebook has gone through numerous changes and so has our group. The group started out as a small group of neighbors and most of the messages were related to Neighborhood Watch items and community events. We needed something to call Park Hill residents and I came up with the idea of calling us Park Hillionaires. Today our group has grown to include nearly 1,700 of our neighbors and we add about 10 new members every day.
The group is a labor of love and is a very small way to give back to Park Hill for all of the wonderful experiences my family and I have had over the years. The Park Hill Neighborhood Facebook Group is a vibrant and active community. Our members live just around the corner from one another and jump at the chance to help one another with issues as small as finding a babysitter to as large as the recent controversies around the Wal-Mart construction on Colorado Boulevard and Xcel Energy’s efforts to remove several trees from Park Hill streets. My favorite part of the group is seeing the pictures that people post of themselves enjoying life in Park Hill.
The Park Hill Neighborhood Facebook Group has been a virtual coffee klatch for our community and has even spawned new groups on Facebook like the Park Hill Running Group and Park Hill Cruisers. We hope you will join us and make new connections with your neighbors.
