Volunteer

GPHC is a volunteer-based organization. All our programs are sustained and supported primarily by volunteers with the help of a part-time staff of two. We have a diverse array of volunteer opportunities that range in timing, location, and intensity.

Food Programs

Food program opportunities include volunteering in our Emergency Food Pantry (Every Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.) and/or assisting us with our Thanksgiving Giveaway (various one-time opportunities). Read more about our food programs here.

Gardening

Help us maintain our garden, located in the back of our building. We grow vegetables to support our food programs and we need many hands to help seasonally from May through October.

Newspaper

The Greater Park Hill News relies on volunteers to bundle and deliver our monthly newspapers. Distribution volunteers — or “block-workers” — are needed to deliver newspapers to households, businesses, churches and community centers in and around Park Hill. Click here for more information.

Special Events

We have three special event committees, including the Park Hill Garden Walk, Independence Day Parade, and the Park Hill Home Tour and Street Fair, which is our flagship event and largest fundraiser of the year. Each of these committees requires dedicated planning members. We also need many day-of-event volunteers. Click to learn more about the events and consider volunteering for one or all.

Sustainability

We hold neighborhood cleanups throughout the year and are always in need of volunteers to help beautify the Park Hill neighborhood by freeing it from trash and discarded recyclables.
