In 2013, Greater Park Hill Community, Inc held its first official Thanksgiving Giveaway. And what a success it was! Now an integral part of the numerous services we offer at GPHC, our annual Thanksgiving Giveaway tradition — now in its 10th year — is a collaborative effort that unites our staff, board members, donors, neighbors, partners and tireless volunteers, all of whom are instrumental in distributing free Thanksgiving food boxes for upwards of 350 in-need families — including elementary school students, low-income housing residents and clients of our own organization. Last year we provided 1,370 meals and 350 King Soopers gift cards, received 164 donations, raised $15,000 and distributed 150 pies, 130 bags of dinner rolls and 4,400 cans and packages of Thanksgiving essentials. And this year we hope to nourish even more of our neighbors.
