In 2013, Greater Park Hill Community, Inc held our first official Thanksgiving Giveaway. Before that time, we informally supported families and for 27 years we ran a Christmas Basket giveaway that ended in 1992 due to a lack of volunteers. Our Thanksgiving Giveaway is an integral part of the services we offer at GPHC and this occasion provides our neighbors with opportunities to volunteer, donate, or receive food, according to their needs and capacity. It is our goal to ensure as many families in need as possible enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving dinner provided by their neighbors and GPHC.

How to Get Involved
Register to Receive a Box
Registrion for Thanksgiving boxes begins on October 1st. Call 303-388-0918 or stop by the office to sign up. First priority is given to residents of Park Hill (with proof of address) who sign up by November 15th. If you are a non-resident or sign up after November 15th, we will place you on a waitlist. We are typically able to serve everyone on the waitlist, but we may not be able to confirm until about a week prior to Thanksgiving.
If you are not already registered with our Emergency Food Pantry, you will need a photo ID and a piece of current mail with your Park Hill address on it for all adults in your household, as well as documentation (student ID, birth certificate, letter from a school counselor, etc) for children under 18.
We need nearly 100 volunteers to make this program happen! If you’d like to get your little ones involved, we have a couple special sessions just for families as well.
You can also donate fresh and non-perishable food items. Please drop off non-perishable items 11/9-11/13. Fresh items should be delivered the week of 11/16-11/20. Our hours at 2823 Fairfax will be extended as follows:

- Tuesday, 11/10 9:00am-12:00pm
- Wednesday, 11/11 9:00am-6:00pm (Food Pantry 10a-1p)
- Friday, 11/13 9:00am-3:00pm
- Monday, 11/16 8:00am-6:00pm (Food Pantry 10a-1p)
- Tuesday, 11/17 8:00am-12:00pm
- Wednesday, 11/18 8:00am-4:00pm (Food Pantry 10a-1p)
- Friday, 11/20 8:00am-6:00pm
- Monday, 11/23 9:00am-6:00pm (Thanksgiving pick-up only, No Food Pantry)
- Tuesday, 11/24 9:00am-3:00pm (Thanksgiving Box pick-up only)
NOTE: THE EMERGENCY FOOD PANTRY WILL BE CLOSED THE WEEK OF NOVEMBER 23-27 TO ACCOMMODATE THANKSGIVING BOX DISTRIBUTION AND THE HOLIDAY.
