Lemonade For A Cause
Four enterprising young women grabbed the opportunity to ensure thirsty Garden Walk looky-loos had access to lemonade and more, with the proceeds going to several charities. At top, Maxine Montalbano and Providence Reign, both 13, set up a stand outside a garden on 29th and Clermont. They were raising money for Children’s Hospital; specifically they planned to hire a face painter to cheer kids up at the hospital. “I think that looking on the bright side really helps,” Reign said. At bottom, 7th grader Audrey Moore and 5th grader Sansy Moore set up their stand outside one of the gardens on this year’s tour, at 19th and Locust. On the menu: lemonade with mint and homemade chocolate cookies and brownies. They were raising money for the Denver Dumb Friends League, as well as a church in El Paso Texas, Iglesia Luterana Cristo Rey, which provides a safe space for children and after school programs.
