Waste Management has partnered with Continuus Materials to develop a recycled roofing product they call Everboard. It’s made from recycled paper and plastic that is mixed and normally couldn’t be recycled.
By 2028 their goal is for Everboard to divert 750,000 tons of waste from landfill annually. Don’t look for this product at your local lumber yard because it’s exclusively designed for sloped roofs on commercial buildings: think Amazon warehouse, Walmart, etc.
Everboard withstands high winds and large hail, and provides fire protection. A bonus is that it can be re-recycled when the roof needs replacement or the building is taken down. This is a great example of a sustainable, circular solution to managing our limited natural resources.
