’Tis The Season For Furry & Warm, Soft & Squishy
By Margot K. Vahrenwald, DVM, CVJ
It’s that season again. Snow (maybe), shopping for loved ones, including the furry, and maybe just a huge sigh of relief that 2022 is just around the corner.
So now for shopping for the furry set and a few things thrown in for their caretakers. I’ve tried to find the best items for you in terms of fun, tech or just joy. If you love crafty and unique gifts, don’t forget to search Etsy, as there are too, too many things for dogs and cats to list here.
Techy Gifts for Pet Parents
Eufy Security Indoor Pet Camera (chewy.com): A set of two indoor cameras with motion detection so you can see what your pet (or teenager) is up to while you’re back at work.
Wickedbone Smart Bone (amazon.com): An interactive bone that moves your dog into play action. It has 12 mode settings to match your pup’s mood of the day.
Soft and Squishy
Sushi Cat Toy Gift (2 pieces), (etsy.com/listing/502780150): This toy is so great – handmade, filled with organic catnip and just plain cute. And, there are all kinds of other creative Etsy finds if you search Feline Fun, Cat Toys, etc. that won’t break the bank.
Starbarks Pupkin Spice Latte Dog Toy (nordstrom.com): Now your pup can enjoy (or destroy) a sweet treat for the holidays.
Pretty and Practical
Dogit Elevated Dog Bowl (amazon.com): This elevated set comes in both small and large dog sizes with an easy-to-remove, dishwasher safe stainless steel bowl. Raising an older pet’s food and water bowls can make it much more comfortable if they are developing arthritis/back pain.

PetFusion Ambush Interactive Cat Toy, (amazon.com): It looks a bit like a little spaceship, but it’s a an inactive toy for your favorite feline with a random pattern of feathers popping out to engage and entice their hunter instincts.
Dash® Express Dog Treat Maker, (crateandbarrel.com): You can be your dog’s treat chef now for customized treats as simply as making pancakes. Makes eight bone-shaped treats.
