Bugland: Bug With The Golden Eye
The delicate Green Lacewing is nocturnal, and flies and lays her eggs at night. These often under-appreciated insects are beneficial to have around the house and garden, as they feed on annoying aphids, mites and other soft-bodied insects. Lacewings are are usually bright green to greenish-brown with translucent wings, and their compound eyes are a stunning golden color. This Green Lacewing was photographed in Park Hill by photographer Mark Silverstein.
