Drive Chill Revs It Up
An Update On The Slow Car Movement
By Andy Keiser, Co-Founder, Drive Chill, Park Hill
It’s official. Drive Chill has filed paperwork with the Colorado Secretary of State to incorporate as a nonprofit organization.
The group’s mission is to promote road safety and driver awareness in the Park Hill neighborhood and beyond. Our vision is that all residents and visitors to the neighborhood feel compelled to obey traffic laws, empowered to discuss and bring about safety solutions and are safe when walking, biking, or otherwise enjoying the sidewalks and streets of the neighborhood.
Founding board members include Park Hill residents Andy Keiser, Erin Reynolds, and Mina Goldstein. All are committed to seeing the organization through startup and initial operations while engaging their fellow Greater Park Hill neighbors every step of the way.
Our website (www.drivechill.org) is currently under construction, but please bookmark it and check back often because we hope to go live very soon. On the website, you will be able to sign the pledge, get stickers and other Drive Chill merchandise, and find ways to stay involved with the organization. If you haven’t yet, you can also follow our Facebook page for updates.
Drive Chill organizers are also excited to announce that we received our first generous donation from a local business owner and resident of Park Hill. This $500 gift from an anonymous donor inspired a matching gift from the three founding board members enabling the organization to give free Drive Chill window stickers to the first 500 people to sign the pledge. Look for more details on social media when the website goes live.
One thing we’ve learned since the March issue of the Greater Park Hill News came out is that there is a lot of passion and a lot of good ideas in this community around road safety. We hope that you all will stay engaged and work with us to make Park Hill safe for commuters of all types. This organization belongs to the community and we need your voice!
Editor’s Note: If you missed the March story about the multitude of complaints over out of control traffic issues in the neighborhood that inspired the Drive Chill Park Hill movement, check it out at greaterparkhill.org
