Cubs at the Capitol
The Scouts of Den 7 took a tour of the state Capitol on April 1 as part of their progress toward their Wolf Badge. As a special privilege, the Cubs got to sit on the floor of the Colorado State Senate during a budget debate. They met with Senate Minority Leader Morgan Carroll and state Sen. John Kefalas to discuss state budget and civics. A few of the boys are pictured here pointing to Colorado’s Cub Peak from the Capitol Dome. The ability to visit the floor of the Senate is only available to those who have an escort from an elected official. It was a great experience for the boys and part of what makes scouting such a good program for youth development. Photo and caption courtesy Steve Holloway, Den 7 Cub Leader.
