19th annual Ghost Posts keep Halloween spirits high
By, Dee Ciancio, Ghost Post Organizer, and Robyn Fishman, Interim Executive Director, GPHC
After 19 year, Ghost Posts are still going strong. Eight Ghost Posts will be set up around the neighborhood on Halloween:
- 2620 Bellaire
- 4431 E. 26th Ave. (near Clermont)
- 2300 Holly
- 1965 Hudson
- NW corner of Forest and 22nd
- NW corner of 23rd and Eudora
- NW corner of Fairfax and 23rd
- NE corner of Montview and Leyden
They will be handing out candy and hot cider and keeping spirits high until 8 p.m. when we ask that Trick-or-Treating ends for the safety of the little ones.
For new neighbors who might not be familiar, Ghost Posts were started after an unfortunate shooting on Halloween on 1993. Steve and Dee Ciancio started Ghost Posts when their son was 3-years-old and he is now a senior at CU Boulder.
Door hangers that simply read “Trick-or-Treating Ends at 8 p.m.” can be picked up from Spinelli’s on 23rd, or Eis Gelato on 28th Ave. (after 1pm today). The Park Hill tradition is to place a door hanger on your door at 8pm to signal the end of candy-mania, but **please keep your porch light on** to light up the streets for kids returning home. Save your door hangers for use next year!
If you’d like to create your own last-minute ghost post, official Ghost Post signs can be checked out by contacting Dee Ciancio on her Bat phone 303-246-8623.
Please help spread the word!
