Want To Help? Let Us Count The Ways
By Rebecca Born
Executive Director, GPHC, Inc.
You can help us serve the neighborhood! Whether donations are gifts of time, money, or necessary items they all make a lasting impact here at GPHC.
Would you like to donate to the Food Pantry? We need clean plastic grocery bags or re-useable bags, diapers (size 4,5, and 6 needed most), sunscreen, unscented lotion, travel sized toiletries, toothbrushes, toothpaste, granola/protein bars, canned fruit and protein rich canned goods (chili, stew, etc.) We are also beginning to stock up on items for our Thanksgiving baskets.
Cleaning out your garage? Our garden needs shovels, trowels, pitchforks, etc. We also need a 10- or 15-foot folding ladder for our lights and smoke detectors.
Gardening at home? As our growing season wraps up, if you have extra produce you can help us supplement our emergency food pantry offering with fresh, nutritious fruits and vegetables!
Are you handy? We need some help flashing our greenhouse roof. After the roof is sealed we’ll need to re-install the wall panels. We also have some plasterwork that needs attention.
Do you have three hours to help? We are a member organization at the Food Bank of the Rockies and for every three hours you volunteer there GPHC earns a TWENTY-pound food credit! Go to www.foodbankrockies.org and click on the volunteer tab to get signed up. Make sure to designate Greater Park Hill Community, Inc. as your organization. Think of all the Thanksgiving baskets we can fill with your 20-pound donation!
Lastly, we can always use any gift cards to places such as King Soopers, Safeway, Lowes, etc.
Please call 303-388-0918 or email director@greaterparkhill.org if you have any questions or would like to help in any of these ways. We are in the office Monday-Thursday from 9 to 3. Check out our Facebook page for even more ways to get involved. And, remember your donations are tax deductible!
Thank you so much for everything all of you do.
