Park Hill Librarians
This just in, you read it here first folks, two new authors have submitted their first books to the Denver Public Library.
Certain to soon be featured in The New York Times Book Review, Lyla Bell and Harper Bell are taking the literary world by storm with their works, Unicorn Dreams and About Unicorns, respectively. Not since The Brontë Sisters has the literary world felt the force of such satisfying sibling stories.
Tracy Canada Hanson, coauthor of this piece, was the librarian on duty when the Bells submitted the stories.
“Late one Saturday afternoon in September two smart, creative, and bold sisters came to visit the Park Hill library with their mother,” Hanson says, recounting the exciting moment, and the accompanying backstory. “Earlier that day the girls’ had a most brilliant idea: to write and illustrate their own books! And to drop them off at the library to share with other library customers!”
Sources close to the family say that their mom transcribed everything for the young authors, word for word.
These sweet little tomes brightened the day for everyone on staff at the library. They are currently on display in the Children’s area, with the New Picture Books. Please stop by and read these unique and inspiring stories. Even those well-versed in the antics of unicorns will learn much from these two new books by two sensational sisters.
