Park Hill Home Tour and Street Fair
The Park Hill Home Tour is only five months away and work has begun to bring another fabulous home tour and exciting street fair to our beautiful and vibrant neighborhood. At our March planning meeting, we identified the critical areas we need to fill with committed, fun-loving and energetic volunteers.
Street Fair Coordinator: Stacy McDonald’s dynamic personality has breathed new life into the Street Fair – so much so that it has taken on a life of its own. Stacy has all of her contact and organizational information ready to pass on to the new Street Fair Coordinator. She will stay on as our liaison with the many City departments necessary to secure permits, close streets, etc. Amy Bellman will continue in her new role as the Coordinator of Kids Activities and plans to expand the offerings for kids this year. She would welcome volunteers who could spend a few hours to secure activities and be available the day of the street fair.
Home Selection: We need help finding homes for the home tour. If you would like to nominate your own home or another home you’ve always admired, please call Roberta at 303-355-4492.
Public Relations: This position has been vacant for several years but we believe that a coordinated public relations effort would yield great results. Can you help?
Advertising: We’re very grateful to Pam and Jack Farrar, who secure advertisers for the home tour program guide and to Susan Barden and Paula Wales, who spend hours soliciting, collecting and presenting the silent auction items. These dedicated people are all on board for this year’s home tour, but they could use some help!
Volunteers: Pam and Denny Hovik have done an incredible job as the Volunteer Coordinators for the last few years and, with their attention to detail and creativity, have developed systems, volunteer lists and processes that ensure that Home Tour day is safe, secure and fun for the volunteers, homeowners and tour visitors. With their usual graciousness, they have agreed to pass along all of this information and will be available for consultation. A seasoned veteran of the volunteer committee, Larry Sondgeroth, will remain with his new team of Kim Tighe and Tannan Morris. These busy people need to find at least 100 volunteers, so please let us know if and how you would like to help.
All of these tasks are so much easier when we have more people helping. Please contact Roberta Locke at 303-355-4492 or robertalocke@aol.com for further information or to volunteer.
Remember, the Home Tour is the largest fundraiser for the Greater Park Hill Community and all of your volunteer efforts help to strengthen this wonderful neighborhood!
