Please don’t be alarmed if you hear rock and roll coming from the Park Hill Branch Library on Wednesday nights!
Every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. we are presenting our free Park Hill Music Series with live bands in our Community Room. March 4 will feature Riverside Drive – an all-female band described as pre-soul, similar to The Rondelles or Staple Singers. On March 11, we will be tappin’ our toes to Chella and the Charm, heard on OpenAir by Colorado Public Radio and described as “midwestern rural vibes with urban hipster sensibilities” by marqueemag.com.
The volume amps up with the indie rock band The Outfit on March 18. You can listen to and download The Outfit’s album Tough Kids for free from the library’s local music project website at volumedenver.org. Not for the faint of heart, or ear, the music series concludes on March 25 with industrial band Echo Beds, who will provide a musical experience unlike any other you may have experienced before.
We are excited to provide a wide variety of live music for our community and attract new customers while still delighting current ones. We strive to expand the definition of what a library can be for the community and welcome non-traditional library customers through our doors. The philosophy of the library is to be a place for a variety of voices, experiences, viewpoints, tastes and preferences. No matter how you look at it, the library rocks.
