Did you know you can check out a GoPro camera from the library? We also have wireless hotspots, power check meters, draft check meters, video projectors and museum and state parks passes. We call it the “Library of Things.” Current items include:
Check Out State Parks: Colorado Library Pass
Enjoy the natural beauty of Colorado at one of our 42 State Parks. Pass comes with a family activity backpack and admits one carload of people. Checkout period: One week.
Museum Passes
The Denver Public Library has partnered with nearby cultural institutions to offer museum admission for library cardholders.
Draft Check Meter
Uses an infrared sensor to find leaks along walls, molding, ductwork, and more. Provides quick, intuitive feedback, showing you where to caulk and insulate. Checkout period: Three weeks.
GoPro Camera
Record your adventures with a GoPro Hero 3 digital camera. Includes accessories and carrying case. Checkout period: One week.
Power Check Meter
Monitor and project energy costs and find out what appliances cost to operate. Displays cost of electricity in dollars and cents, and tracks true power over time. Checkout period: Three weeks.
Video Projector
Dell video projector comes with power cord and VGA cable in a carrying case. Checkout period: One week.
Wireless (WiFi) Hotspot
Connect your smartphone, laptop or tablet to high-speed internet. Checkout period: Three weeks.
Many of these items have wait lists, so come in and put something on hold today so you can enjoy it soon.
Also of note for February, Winter of Reading begins. Adults can win prizes for completing activities like downloading an e-book. Ask us for a brochure; Winter of Reading ends March 31.

Rebels Remembered records and preserves the untold stories of the warriors of the 50s and 60s civil rights revolution in Colorado. This first of three 1-hour programs illustrates events and circumstance from the viewpoints of those whose time forever changed race relations. Rebels Remembered: My Neighborhood School | Tuesday, Feb. 28, 6:30 p.m.
The third of three programs explores the last century of education change in Denver area schools and traces the evolution through de facto segregation, busing and white flight. Interviews reveal the forces at work on administrators, politicians, students, teachers and parents as our communities evolved. Discussion follows with director and activists featured in the film.
