Letter to the Editor
To the Editor,
I am all for calling out politicians when warranted, it is the right thing to do. I believe Brian Rodeno, in last month’s Greater Park Hill News, took an unwarranted shot at Councilwoman Susman and the travelogue she wrote for the May issue on going carless.
Mr. Rodeno takes the councilwoman to task for not understanding transportation needs in Park Hill. Unfortunately, that was not what Susman’s article was about. She wrote about the trials and tribulations of going carless for a week at the invitation of the editor of the GPHN. A different subject altogether, although ultimately Park Hill›s traffic woes and mass transit will be intertwined.
I can understand Mr. Rodeno›s frustration at the traffic on Krameria Street. I live close to Quebec, and have been a witness to that disaster, going from a relatively untraveled street that more or less dead-ended in Lowry, to the mess it is today. I could write volumes on the mistakes and broken promises that made that mess. Krameria, with its stoplights at Colfax, 14th, 13th,and 8th could very well be the next Quebec, with more stoplights added as needed.
I imagine Councilwoman Susman would be more than happy to debate traffic issues in Park Hill, as long as that is the subject.
Respectfully,
Gary Martyn, South Park Hill
