Getting to Know Park Hill On-Foot
New Weatherproof Walking Maps Celebrate the 3 MPH Pace

How often do we take 30 minutes to walk the streets of our neighborhood? For many of us it’s the chore associated with dog ownership or trimming the waistline. Have you considered the mental and communal benefits of being on-foot in Park Hill? The bi-pedal movement and 3MPH pace helps us sift through the thoughts, events and tasks of the day. It helps to relax us in times of stress or madness. It provides a refreshing way to connect with a loved one, with your kids or with self. It also allows us to get a little closer to the color of our neighborhood’s great trees in contrast to an ever-changing sky. We are lucky to live in Colorado where we practically see the sun every day of the year. We are lucky to be so close to City Park with one of the most beautiful views of Denver and the Rockies (as many of you know) when walking West on 26th. How often do you really get to stop and see it?
The Stapleton Transportation Management Association (TMA), RTD and Walk2Connect have partnered in creating high-quality weatherproof ‘pocket size’ walking maps for the Park Hill, Stapleton, NW Aurora and Montclair neighborhoods. They were able to conduct several walking trips in all four neighborhoods last year helping to inform suggested routes. Each of the walking maps comes with one main neighborhood loop (averaging 2 hours or 6 miles) with various detours and loops connecting residents and visitors to various community assets, history points and commercial districts.
Stapleton TMA and Walk2Connect will be conducting another round of free walking trips for all four neighborhoods including several cross-neighborhood and RTD bus/rail route trips.
