DPS Greater Park Hill/Stapleton Community Committee
Denver Public Schools’ Office of Community Engagement kicked off a series of six community committee meetings on February 7 to provide input to the DPS board on issues relevant to schools in the Greater Park Hill and Stapleton community, with a focus on planning for secondary school feeder patterns with the growth of Stapleton. The four steering committee co-chairs are Beth Conover, Ida Daniel, Jon Goldin-Davis and Landri Taylor. Out of over 100 applicants, DPS selected a committee of around 50 parents, school faculty and community members. According to DPS’ Phillip Stonecipher, the first meeting established that diversity, equity and high-quality schools are the communities’ top concerns. Future meetings are scheduled for Tuesdays, March 13, April 3, April 24 and May 8, 5:30-8p at the Odyssey School, 6550 E. 21st Ave, unless otherwise noted. A light dinner, childcare and interpretation provided. Previous meetings agendas are available at communityrelations.dpsk12.org/stories/storyreader$69.
