Affordable Housing In High-Rent Areas
On Tuesday, Nov. 18, the League of Women Voters of Denver will present a briefing to explore the options available to deal with the huge gap that exists between housing that people with low to moderate incomes can afford and the high-cost buildings springing up across the Denver landscape for more affluent residents. The Denver City Council is addressing the growing gap, with amendments to the “inclusionary housing ordinance” that encourage developers to build homes for people with more modest incomes, such as police officers, firefighters and schoolteachers in areas of the city where housing is most needed. This free presentation is open to the public and will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Montview Presbyterian Church, 1980 Dahlia Street.
