Bugland: Captain Crunch
Scarlet Malachite Beetles are a species of soft-winged flower beetles in the family Melyridae.They aren’t dangerous to humans or pets, and can be found in fields and meadows and on the flowers of herbaceous plants. The beetle’s larvae are frequently found near crops of grains that are grown for cereal. This Scarlet Malachite Beetle was photographed at Bluff Lake just east of Park Hill by Mark Silverstein.
