Blooms And Art In June
Park Hill Garden Walk Includes Art En Plein Air

One of the great joys of early summer is the annual Park Hill Garden Walk and the chance to wander through beautiful neighborhood gardens, talk with gardeners — and to encounter local artists whose work is inspired by and displayed alongside the flora. Many artists will be painting en plein air, and all will have work for sale.
This year’s Garden Walk is Sunday, June 13 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and features eight gardens and 14 artists. Participating artists include many beloved regulars like Tanis Bula and her vibrant watercolor close-ups of flowers. Kate Maley will feature her watercolor garden scapes, Ginny Abblett always brings a new painting passion project, Brandy Bixler creates bright mixed media paintings, Amy Martin does pastel and watercolor work, James Dixon makes dramatic organic metal sculptures, and Tiffany Russell Miller features award-winning wildlife paper constructions.
Other familiar faces include Terrie Lombardi and her fresh floral oils, Calvin Lee and his watercolor and ink creations, and Jeannie Paty with her contemporary oils. There are also some newcomers this year. Charlotte Zink will be installing her whimsical metal sculptures designed for gardens, and Jennifer Ghormley will be showing her woodblock prints and other items. Kate Kennedy will display her bright oils and Tracy Wall will offer contemporary mixed media work.
The artists are also volunteers, who often return year after year because they love painting in the gardens, working with gardeners to place their pieces and interacting with attendees. Check out the art being created and displayed during the Garden Walk — and maybe take a piece for your own home or garden.
