Birdland – The Company Of A Parakeet
This Caribbean Parakeet is certainly not indigenous to Park Hill, but this little fella sure makes you want to go somewhere exotic, right? In the Dutch Antilles, pandemoniums of bright green parakeets can be heard shrieking as they flash by, or gather in wabi, dividivi and indju trees. The parakeets’ coloring varies from island to island, but they all eat seeds and fruit, and often make their nests in termite tunnels. This Caribbean Parakeet was photographed on the island of Bonaire by Park Hill resident Mark Silverstein.
