Summer of Adventure

The Summer of Adventure is Back. Youth ages 0-18 are encouraged to participate in activities in three categories: Read, Make and Explore.
Here’s what you do:
• Visit any of our 27 locations. (Note: The Ross Cherry Creek branch is currently closed.)
• Ask to sign up for Summer of Adventure, first day to register is June 3.
• Receive a brochure (kids receive a prize just for signing up).
• Complete 15 activities.
• First day to receive the completion prize is July 1.
• Last day to register is Aug. 6 and last day to pick up completion prize is Aug. 13.
Family Excursion to Mile High Stadium
Saturday, July 16
We will be taking a bus to Mile High Stadium, where we will tour the stadium, and return home on the bus. Families, teens, and friends/neighbors are welcome to join. Teens 16 and up can go on the trip solo with a Trip Release Form signed by a parent/caregiver. Call the Pauline Robinson Branch at 720-865-0290 or ask at the desk for more information and/or to sign up. Limited to 25 attendees.

Toddler Storytimes
Fridays 10:30 a.m.
Stories, songs, rhymes and fun for toddlers ages 18-36 months and their parents or caregivers. (Reservations needed)
All Ages Storytimes
Saturdays 10 a.m.
Stories, songs, rhymes and fun for children of all ages and their parents or caregivers in an outdoor setting. Bring a blanket to sit on. (No reservations needed)
Juneteenth: The last word on Freedom with Adrian Miller
Saturday, June 4, 2 p.m.
Soul Food Scholar and author Adrian Miller presents an overview of the various Emancipation celebrations that emerged in the nineteenth century and what they meant to African Americans.
Drag Queen Story Hour
Saturday, June 11, 2 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.
Our favorite drag diva is cracking open some classic Golden Books for your amusement. Let your wig down and have some laughs to celebrate Denver Pride with us.
Art Exploration
Wednesday, June 15, 10:30 a.m.
Enjoy art with your child and help them develop fine motor skills and curiosity using a wide variety of materials. Geared towards 6 month to 5 year olds who love to get messy with art. (Reservations needed)
Kids Book Club
Wednesday, June 22, 4 p.m. – 5 p.m.
For ages 7-10, discussing Katherine Applegate’s The One and Only Ivan. Limited number of books available starting June 1.

Tuesday, June 14 and Tuesday, June 28, 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Anyone 6th-12th grades are welcome to join the Teen Advisory Board (TAB) and help with library programming and resources geared towards teens.
No Strings Attached Book Chat| Saturday, June 25, 11 a.m.
Read whatever you want and attend whenever you can. Share a recent read, an old favorite, or anything in between.

Simply Self Publishing
Thursday, June 2, 3 p.m – 4:30 p.m.
Nowata Press Publishing & Consulting presents, Simply Self-Published, a free workshop developed to take new writers from blank page to self-published in as few as six months. Suitable for attendees 16 years and older, this workshop will leave you knowing what to write, how to write it, and what to do to get your finished manuscript into readers hands.
Participants will leave the workshop with a workbook, a complete paragraph or two (at minimum) of their draft, and a list of resources they can use outside the workshop to continue their writing and self-publishing journey.
Space is limited to the first 12 people to arrive.
