May Election Day Means Run-Offs in June
Election Day is Tuesday, May 5. All registered voters should have received ballots in the mail, and they can be dropped off until 7 p.m. at one of many official drop boxes, including Hiawatha Davis Rec Center in Park Hill. In anticipation of run-off elections in four or more city council races, Denver Decides has scheduled two evenings of run-off candidate forums on May 13 and 14. The forums will be telecast live from the Denver 8 TV studio beginning at 7 p.m. each evening. Individual council district forums will last 40 minutes with a short break between events. Plans include two forums per night, but the schedule will be adjusted as warranted by election results. Tune in live each of those evenings or catch-up at www.DenverDecides.org.
Denver Decides is a community partnership between Denver 8, League of Women Voters of Denver, Inter-Neighborhood Cooperation (INC), and Historic Denver for accessible, transparent elections. For further information visit www.DenverDecides.org.
Attention All Preschoolers
Tuition support for preschoolers has been extended this summer for students enrolled at any of the Denver Preschool Program’s (DPP) quality-rated, community-based preschool programs located across the city. Denver children starting kindergarten this fall are eligible. Space is limited so parents wishing to enroll their child are urged to contact their preschool provider directly, call 303-595-4DPP or visit www.dpp.org to find out more. Funded by Denver’s dedicated preschool sales tax, first approved by voters in 2006 and renewed and expanded in 2014, DPP has provided $64 million in tuition support to help nearly 37,000 Denver children attend the preschool of their families’ choice, establishing each child’s foundation for lifelong learning and success.
