Stock Show
The annual downtown parade kicking off the 114th National Western Stock Show begins at noon on Jan. 9. Some 30 Texas longhorns will be herded from Union Station east on 17th Street for 15 blocks, ending at Tremont. Grand Marshal this year is Jake Jabs, the well-known owner of American Furniture Warehouse. In addition to the longhorns, the parade will feature horses, cowboys, cowgirls, tractors, marching bands and floats in a celebration of Colorado’s western traditions. The stock show and rodeo runs through Sunday, Jan. 26 at the National Western Center, at 46th and Humboldt. This parade photo was taken in 2016 by Reid Neureiter.
