LyndaLibrary is a great tool for learning new technology, software, creative and business skills. And, it’s free with your library card.
LyndaLibrary offers a wide variety of instructional videos for professional development in categories such as 3D and animation, design, photography and marketing. Courses are self-paced and taught by recognized industry experts.
Users can follow learning paths, such as “Become a Cloud Developer” or “Become a Digital Illustrator,” or search for specific software or skills to learn.

Denver Days Launch Party | Friday, Aug. 4, 3 – 5:45 p.m.
As part of Denver Days, we will host a community party with live music, games and prizes.
Loco-Motion: The Science and Circus Arts Show | Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2 p.m.
Peter Davison, a national juggling champion, presents juggling, unicycling, balancing, acrobatics, clowning and more, while teaching the science behind the artistry. Fun for all ages.
Ukulele for Kids with Swallow Hill | Thursday, Aug. 10, 2 p.m.
Ukulele is the perfect instrument for kids to explore the world of music. It’s small, easy to carry, easy on the fingers, and simple to start with. Kids will learn a couple chords and some simple, singable songs. Ukuleles and instruction provided by Swallow Hill Music. Open to K-5th graders. Saturday Storytime: Creative Movement with Colorado Ballet | Saturday, Aug. 26, 10:30 a.m.
Kids will learn about a variety of dance concepts, such as size, balance, rhythm, levels, shapes, and energy. The class will develop spatial awareness, problem solving, and strengthening of the body and brain. Ideal for preschool to early elementary age. Limited to 25 participants, so come early.

BINGO for Books | Friday, Aug. 4, 3 p.m.
Play BINGO and win books! Great fun for the whole family — kids, teens and adults can play. We will have animal bingo cards for the younger children and traditional bingo cards for everyone else. All participants will receive one card to play. Bringing a gently used book to share gives you an additional bingo card to increase your chance of winning. Remaining books will be donated to the Denver Public Library Friends Foundation.

Spirits with Author Chip Colwell | Saturday, Aug. 5, 2:30 p.m.
Who owns the past, including sacred objects and remains? Chip Colwell, Senior Curator of Anthropology at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, will reveal why repatriation laws have become an imperfect but necessary tool to resolve the collision of worldview between scientists and Native Americans – to decide the nature of the sacred and the destiny of souls.

Did you know that the U.S. National Ice Core Laboratory stores, curates, and studies meteoric ice cores recovered from the glaciated regions of the world and is located here in Colorado? We will discuss the logistical side of recovering ice cores from Polar Regions, how they are analyzed, and what they can tell us about past and present climate trends.

La Pompe Jazz | Wednesday, Aug. 30, 6:30 p.m.
La Pompe Jazz is a Denver-based gypsy jazz group that fuses eclectic American standards with French ballads, burning Django Reinhardt “Hot Club” tunes, and soulful originals. By combining swinging vocals and high-energy instrumentals they are bringing vintage jazz alive for a whole new generation.
