The Greater Park Hill News is an award-winning 13,000-circulation monthly community newspaper in the heart of Denver, serving a diverse audience. Our team is hardworking and passionate about our advertisers and about keeping the community informed. And, we have fun. 

We are looking for an advertising sales representative to help grow our sales. This is a part-time independent contract position. Salary is commission-based by a percentage of sales. In addition to taking over a number of existing advertising client accounts, the ad rep will be responsible for developing new clients and accounts.

The ideal candidate is organized, professional, able to meet deadlines, is passionate about customer service and enjoys working in a creative environment. Familiarity with Denver and the Greater Park Hill News is preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities 

Works with existing advertising clients and develops new accounts.

Coordinates all aspects of print advertising for clients — from sales to ensuring ads are delivered by deadline and within correct size specifications. Works with the art director to ensure all dimensions and specifications are correct. Works with clients to troubleshoot ad issues.

Maintains a Google spreadsheet with all relevant client and advertising information on a month-to-month basis. Collects client billing information for payment. Follows up with any delinquent accounts.

Works with the newspaper team to achieve established sales goals.

Participates in monthly newspaper team planning meetings with other ad sales reps, as well as the newspaper editor, manager and art director.

Typical sales calls occur during business hours (Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.). Must be available/reachable on evenings and weekends during monthly production cycles.

 

Qualifications

* Sales experience preferred, but not required.

* College graduate preferred.

* Great verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Drive. 
• This is a remote position. Candidates provide their own work space, computer, internet and phone.
