Response To Charlottesville

The Denver group Resistance 5280 responded swiftly to white nationalists’ violence at a demonstration in Charlottesville, Va. on Aug. 12. The next day in Denver, more than 1,000 turned out to, according to organizers, “show unity, strength, and power proactively NOW against racism, hatred, and white supremacy, and in solidarity with everyone resisting oppression everywhere.” The resisters assembled at the Martin Luther King, Jr. statue in City Park, and continued a march down Colfax to the state capitol.
