PARK HILL PARADE

The Park Hill 4th of July Parade continued its march toward total world domination this year. For the first time, the event — filled with dancers and cyclists, karate-choppers, horses, marching bands, classic cars, politicos and more, was live-streamed on C-SPAN and 9NEWS.
Parade founder Justin Bresler and anchor (and Park Hillian) Kyle Clark emceed, spicing things up with factoids and tidbits about the neighborhood. (Bresler is on the left in the above photo, and Clark is at right. Denver Mayor Mike Johnston is in the middle.) For example, a car crash scene in the Bruce Willis flick Die Hard 2 was filmed in 1990 at the corner of 23rd and Dexter. And in 2015, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl stopped into the Cherry Tomato restaurant for a bite.
Bresler and Clark also gave the Greater Park Hill News a nice shoutout (thanks, guys!). In an age when community newspapers are an endangered species, “[having] a strong newspaper that does independent enterprise reporting is really something special,” Clark said.
