June is here, and it’s time for groups who are thinking about participating to lock down their plans, rally their friends and family and get signed up. The parade website includes a simple sign-up form and links to photo galleries from previous parades for inspiration and ideas.
The parade starts at 1:30 p.m. on the 4th, and the route is the same as years past: Down 23rd Avenue, from Dexter to Krameria streets. The list of groups already signed up for the parade includes some old favorites and new treats. Expected to appear this year are:
• Platinum Diva Princesses – The neighborhood cheerleaders with more energy per pound then any group in the city return for another set of sizzling routines.
• The Galactic Academy – Denver’s best Star Wars costume group for kids, along with the Mandalorian Mercs.
• The ISKCON Krishna Temple and their 16-foot long, bright yellow, hand-pulled decorated temple.
• Park Hill Dance Academy – Ballerinas of all ages in tutus dancing in the parade.
• Plus dozens of other entries with intriguing names like “The Elmers,” “The Mighty, Mighty Mutchlers” and “A Well-Balanced Person.”
And the list goes on, including the Oblio’s golf cart (a parade lifer), the return of the Park Hill Patriots, classic cars, school groups and much more.
The parade, a GPHC event, is not possible without the generous support of sponsors, including this year’s Title Sponsors: Quebec Square Family Dentistry, PDC Energy and Friends for Chris Herndon. Premier sponsors: Dee Ciancio Realty, Oblio’s Pizza, The Hills Church, Dardano’s School of Gymnastics, Tables Restaurant, Spinelli’s Market and Coffeeship. Sponsors: Three Week Kitchens, Denver Public Library/Park Hill Branch, Cake Crumbs, Grape Expectations, Twinkle Together/Music Together, Dental 911, Hakala Family Dentistry, Park Hill Dance Academy and the Living Younger Institute.
See you on the 4th!
