One Neighbor’s Excess Is Another Neighbor’s Treasure
More than 150 people signed up to participate in the 3rd annual Park Hill Yard Sale on May 30 – up from approximately 110 homes that were registered last year. Participation was most noticeable in the southern parts of Park Hill, with just a few households holding yard sales north of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard. One of the organizers, Nina Kuhl, was enthusiastic about the rapid growth of the coordinated neighborhood yard sale – which started at 75 the first year of the event. The Greater Park Hill Community, Inc. and Cherry Creek Properties real estate agents co-sponsor the event, and the website is GPHCYardSale.com. Among the offerings this year: Lots of little tchotchkes, decorations, baby supplies, furniture, clothes, decorations, cookware. Kuhl noted the yard sale is a nice way “to meet your neighbors that you haven’t seen all winter. And it’s a great opportunity to clean up your closets, to make some money and then go shopping.”
