Not a Leaf Out Of Place
Park Hill Garden Walk Turns 15
By Barbara Armendariz
Co-Chair, Garden Walk Committee
This year is the 15th anniversary of the annual Park Hill Garden Walk, which will be held on Saturday June, 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Whether you have attended every year or this is your first, you will enjoy some of the most lovely gardens in Denver.
Rain or shine, 10 neighborhood gardeners will be available to guide visitors through their gardens. Come along, take a look, walk around beautifully designed paths and walkways, borders of shrubs, old and new roses, blooming spring perennials, annuals, grasses and trees.
Garden art abounds; hidden in corners, hanging on walls, dangling from trees, a fountain of falling water created out of something you can’t imagine. These are generous gardeners, willing to share the results of their hard work and love of the earth with all of us. Come and visit, enjoy and gratify your desires to be in peaceful and beautiful places.
Every garden will have a resident Colorado artist, who will be present during the day and exhibiting their work. Watercolor and oil paintings, metal, ceramic sculptures, works in other media, traditional and modern will be available for viewing throughout the day in each garden.
Many Denver businesses will sponsor the gardens with donations that help the Greater Park Hill Community. Last year their generous contributions helped raise more than $10,000 for the neighborhood organization. The effort that goes into our Garden Tour each year is the result of many folks coming together to build a stronger and better community.
Join us on June 13 and help contribute to the wonderful neighborhoods of Colorado.
