News: Honoring Martin Luther King, Jr.

Thousands showed up to City Park on Jan. 17 to honor Martin Luther King, Jr. for what would have been the slain civil rights leader’s 93rd birthday. Denver’s MLK, Jr. Marade (march and parade) was cancelled last year due to the pandemic. A robust crowd gathered in City Park on the balmy January Monday and, after numerous political speeches, marched up Colfax Avenue to Civic Center Park downtown. Photos by Cara DeGette
