TRIBUTE: Celebrating Lives Well Lived
The first of the 2021 All Saints Drumming Celebrations was held Saturday, April 17 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Drummers gathered on the front lawn of Park Hill United Methodist Church to honor and celebrate the lives of friends lost during the pandemic. So many died who did not have COVID-19, and their passing was lost in this difficult time. Honored on that day were community drummers extraordinaire Lee Bagby, who died from complications of kidney disease, and Slim who passed away in L.A. from a massive stroke. Many others were named, including Charlene, Deb and Phil who also went home this past year. The monthly event is intended to provide a space and time for celebration and joyous grief. The next ASDC will be held Saturday, May 15, again in Park Hill. Future ones will be held in conjunction with Juneteenth Festival.
