Annual September Tradition Moves Outside – And Online

Park Hill Home Tour
Get ready for a stroll – and a virtual Street Fair. The 42nd Annual Park Hill Home Tour & Street Fair is Sunday, Sept. 13.
This great Denver tradition began in 1978 to showcase the rich history and diverse architecture of the neighborhood. Over the years, the Home Tour has evolved into an important fundraiser for Greater Park Hill Community, Inc., attracting hundreds of people to tour the interiors of some of Park Hill’s most interesting, beautiful, unique and exclusive homes on what usually falls on a gorgeous autumn day.
Proceeds are used to help fund the many programs that are offered by our Registered Neighborhood Organization, including its food programs, educational and sustainability programs, and even the newspaper you are reading right now.
The day of the Home Tour is also when the Street Fair happens – and it’s usually a time for neighbors and vendors and musicians and performers to get together for a daylong block party and sustainability event.
Not surprisingly, the pandemic and need for public health and safety has changed the routine up this year. A walking tour is being designed to highlight many of the neighborhood’s gorgeous historic properties, styles of architecture, and more. Check the Home Tour and Street Fair website at parkhillhometour.org for updates on how to purchase a map for the tour, ticket sales and information.
Instead of a physical street fair this year, organizers are creating an online marketplace to showcase local artisans and highlight vendors who would otherwise have had booths set up. The Sustainability Zone – a big focus in recent years – will also move online, with information on where and how to recycle, as well as information on same-day electronics recycling (drop-off location to be announced).
The website and event Facebook page will list vendor information, sustainability events, PCs for People collection times, as well as day of “Live” events. Like the page (facebook.com/parkhillhometour) to get updates as they are available.
If you are interested in being a vendor in our online marketplace, email Jessica at email@example.com
We’ll continue to update all details through August. Make sure to also check next month’s issue for updates.
See you Sept. 13!
