Monaco Parkway Closed For Repairs, Reopens a Month Early
The three-block stretch of northbound Monaco Parkway between 17th Avenue and Montview Boulevard was completely closed to traffic beginning the week of Feb. 3, while Denver Water installed a new underground vault and made other improvements. A company spokesman indicated that 120 residents “within sight or sound” of the project received hand-delivered notices about the closure. Denver Water also alerted Denver Public Schools, Regional Transportation District and Councilwoman Mary Beth Susman’s office of the project, and tweeted about it. The major arterial was originally to be closed until the end of March, but the work was completed a month early. Here are some shots of the work being done, including workers standing by in case their subterranean coworkers needed a hand. Photos by Mark Silverstein
