September is National Library Card Signup Month!
The Denver Public Library is brewing up something special with unique programs, extraordinary collaborations with local businesses, and discounts all over town just by showing your library card. Whether your favorite brew is tea, coffee, kombucha, beer or magical potions, the library will be celebrating your cup of tea.
Fiction Beer Company, in Park Hill at Colfax and Pontiac, and the Denver Beer Co. in Highland at 1695 Platte St., have collaborated on two specialty beers inspired by the Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne and the Denver Public Library.
While both beers are Irish cream ales made with two row barley and corn, each beer has its own unique flavor. Fiction Beer Company’s Third Eye Library & Herbs combines caraway seeds and pears for an uncommon and delightful draught. Denver Beer Co.’s cream ale, named for the call number for beer – 641.23 – is a kettle sour crafted with yogurt and black currants.
Both locations will be celebrating with a beer release party the first week of September. Kevin Hearne will be on hand at the Fiction event to sign books and help us celebrate. Both locations are offering special discounts when you show your library card.
Beer’s not your brew? No problem! We have great coffee and tea events going on as well. Park Hill gem, Copper Door Coffee Roasters, is offering a special program at the Park Hill Branch Library on Saturday, September 12. The roasters will be brewing one coffee five different ways with samples so you can taste the difference. Copper Door is also offering a 10 percent discount for customers who flash their library cards during the month of September.
For details for all events and discounts with your library card going on citywide, check out www.denverlibrary.org/brewhaha!
