Bending Toward Justice
Thank you for your article “Running in Reverse” in the August issue of the Greater Park Hill News (which can be read online at greaterparkhill.org).
Many of us living in Park Hill keep focused on the words of Martin Luther King, Jr.: “The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.”
The strength of individuals like Tracey MacDermott and Heather Shockey, who are on the forefront of the battles for justice, provide comfort and inspiration to all of us. Thanks to Tracey and Heather for sharing their story.
Their story brings thoughts of others in our neighborhood that have fought, and will continue to fight for civil rights and justice.
The wedding day of Heather and Tracey provided a beacon in the ongoing efforts for justice, civil rights, and a kinder human condition. Their wedding celebration and dance, commitment and love, allows all of us to continue our collective and individual dances.
Once again, thanks for all like Heather and Tracey, who commit to love and tolerance and work for a better Park Hill community.

Congrats to Tracey and Heather
So wonderful to read the story about Tracey and Heather. Congratulations from your neighbors. Park Hill Congregational UCC started advocating for LGBT people in 1991, becoming one of the first churches in the country to declare itself open and affirming.
