Donate to Food Programs

Donate fresh, frozen, or non-perishable food.

If you are interested in donating fresh, frozen or non-perishable food, you can do so at our office located at 2823 Fairfax during our office hours. You can also donate non-perishable items at Bikes Together (2825 Fairfax St) the Park Hill Branch of Denver Public Library (4705 Montview Blvd) or at Cake Crumbs (2216 Kearney St) during their regular business hours.

We have several refrigerators and freezers. If you plan to donate a large quantity of items that need to be refrigerated or frozen, please contact us first so we can make sure we have room.

Types of Food to Donate

We accept any and all frozen, fresh or non-perishable items that have not expired. However, there are certain items our clients prefer.

Vegetables – We distribute all kinds of canned vegetables, but some favorites include: spinach,  corn, tomatoes, and potatoes.

Fruit – All types are welcome and wanted! We frequently run out of cans and jars of fruit.

Protein – Canned meats such as salmon, spam, chicken, sardines, Vienna sausages, turkey, and tuna are always a hit! Black eyed peas are a popular item and we also distribute peanut butter and canned beans.

Packaged Meals and Soups – Our clients enjoy tuna helper, hamburger helper, rice meals (in either bags or boxes), hearty soups, pasta sides, and rice sides.

Carbohydrates – We would like to distribute more rice and dehydrated potatoes.

Other – Our clients would also enjoy flour, jelly, and kitchen condiments (olive oil, vegetable oil, salt, pepper, mustard, ketchup, etc).

Hygiene – Chapstick, baby wipes, toothbrushes, lotion, and travel-size and regular-size hygiene products are always needed.

Household – We would like to have more toilet paper, paper towels, and cleaning supplies to distribute. We accept opened and partially used cleaning products, but please do not give us mostly empty bottles.

Bags- Reusable, paper, and plastic grocery bags for our clients to use.

For the Weekend Food Program – Individually wrapped cereal bars and granola bars, Individual fruit cups and applesauce, Small boxes of raisins, Boxes of individual servings of instant oatmeal, Individual cereal bowls
