IT’S KUHL TO RECYCLE: Out With The Old
Where To Recycle Worn, Torn And Stained Clothing
By Mark Kuhl | For the GPHN
Many outfits will gladly take your lightly worn clothing for resale in thrift shops, but only a few will also take worn-out clothing and textiles to be recycled.
The clothing company H&M has a few stores nearby (downtown, Cherry Creek and Northfield) that accept any textiles you have, in good shape or not. Head to an H&M and drop the rejects in a garment collecting box, which is usually next to the cashier, and you’ll be rewarded with a voucher for store discounts.
In addition, Madewell in Cherry Creek will take denim jeans in any shape — and will thank you with a voucher for $20 off a new pair of Madewell jeans.
If it’s inconvenient to drop off your worn clothing, you can purchase bags from RETOLD (retoldrecycling.com). Fill them and ship them back for reuse and recycling.
Finally, if you subscribe to Ridwell, their “Threads” program will pick up used and worn-out textiles.
