High Season for the Denver Energy Challenge
60 Percent of Rebates Awarded
The Denver Energy Challenge has awarded 60 percent of its rebate funds to city homeowners making energy improvements in their home. The program provides a free home consultation and links homeowners to qualified contractors and low-cost energy loans to help with projects. To learn more or sign up for the program, visit denverenergy.org or 720-865-5520.
Energy Loan Seminar
In August 2012, the Denver Energy Challenge teamed up with Elevations Credit Union to offer residents within the City & County of Denver low-cost energy loans specifically for energy improvements. Loans can be used to finance a variety of projects such as insulation, heating-cooling, furnace replacements, and solar. Click here to see a video on Energy Loans.
The DEC will host a free energy loan seminar on November 14th from 6-7:30p at the Montclair Civic Center, 6820 E. 12th Ave. This roundtable format will include an energy advisor, a certified contractor, and an Elevations Credit Union loan specialist who will discuss the full process of obtaining efficiency upgrades and answer any questions you may have about the process. RSVP to HomeEnergy@denvergov.org.
Note: In a previous version, this article stated that the program provides a free home energy audit to Denver residents. While home consultations are free, energy audits currently cost around $135 after the Xcel rebate.
