Coming Attractions Include Garden Tours, Garden Boxes, Yard Sales, Park Hill Parade, Home Tour & Street Fair
By Lana Cordes
Executive Director, GPHC, Inc.
Daylight Savings has begun, spring has sprung, and events season is around the corner!
Keep an eye on greaterparkhill.org and facebook.com/GPHCdenver in April so you don’t miss registration for the Park Hill Community Yard Sale and the Garden in a Box Giveaway. Both will take place on Saturday, May 21.
Here’s how the community yard sale works: Register your address if you plan to hold a sale, or utilize the handy map to find all the sales near you.
As far as the Garden in a Box Giveaway, are you a novice or a gardener with a low or fixed income who wants to start a vegetable garden, and needs a little push in the right direction? This one is for you. Check out our website and facebook page, and also next month’s issue of the newspaper for additional details.
And don’t forget to mark your calendars for the annual Park Hill Garden Walk on Sunday, June 12, the Park Hill Parade on Monday, July 4, and the Home Tour & Street Fair, which will take place on a Sunday in September (date to be finalized next month). See the story at right for more on the Garden Walk, and stay tuned in upcoming issues for additional details and coverage of all our events.
We appreciate those who continue to support our food programs through item donations. To better help you get us the items we need, we’ve updated the “Donate” page on our website to include a list of items that are most frequently requested by our clients. Visit greaterparkhill.org/donate to review the list.
Thank you to the donors and volunteers that supported our operations this past month:
