Getting The Boot

The Denver East rugby team brought home the boot trophy on Feb. 23, winning 26 -21 against Regis Jesuit at the Infinity Park at Glendale Turf Field. It was the first league match for both teams, and a rematch of the 2018 State Championship. The “Boot Bowl” is an annual rivalry match between East and Regis Jesuit. The actual boot is an old rugby cleat that used to belong to East Coach Bill Baer. Regis won the boot last year, and East reclaimed it this year. Photos by Reid Neureiter
