Did you know GPHC is a volunteer-run organization?

All our programs are sustained and supported primarily by volunteers with the help of a small staff. We have a diverse array of volunteer opportunities that range in timing, location, and intensity. To become a volunteer, we ask that you complete our Volunteer Interest Form and either email it to or drop it off at our office (2823 Fairfax Street) and plan to attend an orientation.

To learn more about our next volunteer orientation/open house,  email us at, or call 303-388-0918.

Some examples of volunteer opportunities with GPHC:

Newspaper – we need volunteers to help bundle newspapers and we’re always looking for block workers to deliver newspapers. Check out our Newspaper Volunteer Descriptions to learn more!

Food Programs – we need volunteers for our various food programs. Please review this Food Programs Volunteer Description and let us know what interests you most!

Thanksgiving Giveaway– each year we give away almost 300 Thanksgiving boxes to clients and students in need. Check out our Thanksgiving Giveaway page to learn more about volunteering.

Special Events – we have several special events throughout the year including the Garden Tour, the 4th of July Parade, and the Home Tour and Street Fair. Each of these events is coordinated and staffed solely by volunteers. Please view a descriptions of our events and consider volunteering in our community!

Helping Hands Directory – Do you have an interest in helping your Greater Park Hill neighbors garden? Do you have experience gardening or just some helpful hands to loan? If so, please complete this form and we’ll be in touch.

Specialized Skills – If you have a specialized skill, anything from building databases to teaching sustainability workshops and anything in between, please let us know!

We host volunteer orientations and open houses periodically throughout the year. Please email if you have questions.

We’d also love to see you at our monthly community meetings: Every first Thursday at 6:30pm at 2823 Fairfax Street. Please note: we do not meet in December or July. A typical agenda includes community introductions, presentations by community organizations, and concludes with board business. To receive the meeting agenda at the beginning of each month, sign up for our monthly newsletter.
