FINDING HOMES FOR FERAL KITTENS
By Michele Swenson, Forgotten Felines Rescue Volunteer
In early March, volunteers with Forgotten Felines Rescue worked with residents to trap eight cats in feral colonies in Denver alleys. After spaying/neutering, testing and vaccinating all feral cats in a colony, as well as continuing to feed, the goal of Forgotten Felines Rescue is to remove kittens from the colonies, preferably by 2-3 months of age, in order to socialize them for adoption as pets. Young rescued kittens are capable of swift transformation, from alley survivors to socialized pets. For more information on the program, call 303-532-5521.
