La Croissanterie, a bakery and pastry shop inside Ruby’s Good Shoes, last month brought home the coveted “Golden Croissant” award for Denver’s best croissant for 2026. The award came from the 5280 Pastry Co-op, a consortium of professional bakers.

Ruby’s Good Shoes, which opened last year, is an all-day breakfast and brunch restaurant at 33rd and Hudson, across the street from the old Holly Square. La Croissanterie’s head pastry chef, Rafael de Jesus Rufino, won top honors for his combination of a classic croissant and special “Raffaello” — a marbled butter croissant with coconut namelaka cream, white chocolate-coated pecan and a white coconut dusting.
This year marked Denver’s third annual Golden Croissant competition. La Fillette, a French bakery and restaurant just south of Park Hill at 14th and Krameria, won top croissant honors the first two years.
