Greater Park Hill Community, in conjunction with the groups We Don’t Waste and Walk2Connect, will sponsor a series of affordable, Inc. sustainable cooking strategies and tricks every Monday in April. • April 2 – One Skillet Something: We all need a quick go-to dish when we’re tight on time.
• April 9 – Last Ditch Quick Pickling: Don’t let those last bits of veggies go to waste. Quick pickle them—none of the stress of canning with all the joy of eating pickled goodness.
• April 16 – What Do I Do With All These Beans? Includes black beans, garbanzos, green beans and more.
• April 23 – What Do I Do With All These Greens? Includes collards, lettuce, kale, and more.
• April 30 – DIY Veggie Tacos and Veggie Burgers: Learn to make your own.

Wednesday, April 4, 6:30 p.m. at Park Hill Library, Montview and Dexter. Professional organizer Alison Bresler will guide you through simple things that you can do to avoid being paralyzed in front of a bulging closet.
Japanese Beetle Control with City Floral
Saturday, April 14, 11 a.m. at Park Hill Library, Montview and Dexter. Japanese Beetles cause significant damage to more than 300 different plant species found in our landscapes, agricultural areas, and native plants as well. City Floral Greenhouse will share information on how to handle this invasive pest.
What is A Rain Garden?
Saturday, April 21, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Open house at Pauline Robinson Library, 33rd and Holly. A rain garden is a planted area that allows rainwater runoff from roofs, driveways, walkways and parking lots to be absorbed into the landscape instead of storm drains. Explore how you can plant one.
Climate Reality Presentation
Tuesday, April 24 at 6:30 p.m. at 2823 Fairfax St. Tracey MacDermott who recently attended Al Gore’s Climate Reality Training, will deep dive into the science of climate change from a global to regional perspective.
Clean Up Greater Park Hill Work Day
Saturday, April 28 at 2823 Fairfax St. Sign our pledge to clean up near your home during the month of April. Gather with your family and your neighbors to get outside to clean up our sidewalks, alleys, and main thoroughfares. If you live near Colfax, consider picking up trash for a block there. The same goes for MLK, Jr. Boulevard. Help beautify your neighborhood and protect streams.
Bee Careful Campaign
