Clifford Says It’s Time To Pick A Preschool
Now is the time to select your child’s preschool for the coming school year. Denver families can find and compare quality preschool options for their child, learn about the tuition support available to their family, and talk with preschool programs in the Denver area during the Preschool Showcase presented by the Denver Preschool Program (DPP). The program is funded by Denver’s dedicated preschool sales tax that makes quality preschool possible for every 4-year-old living in the City of Denver. Tuition support helps ALL Denver families—regardless of income or neighborhood—pay for high quality preschool. Families can choose from more than 250 preschools in the Denver area, all rated for quality. The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 9, at two Denver locations: Green Valley Ranch Recreation Center, 4890 Argonne Way; and The Studios at Overland Crossing, 2205 S Delaware St. In addition to the preschool programs, the Preschool Showcase will feature: free refreshment, activities and entertainment, Spanish translators, and photo ops with Clifford and Curious George. The snow may be flying today, but The Park People are preparing for the upcoming planting season. Unfortunately, Emerald Ash Borer has been detected in Boulder. While the pest has not yet been spotted in Denver, it is likely to be discovered soon, which will impact our urban forest. Applications are available at www.theparkpeople.org, or by calling 303-722-6262. The deadline to apply is February 15.
