Cazimir Liske Remembered
Celebration Of Life July 30
A memorial to celebrate the life of Cazimir Liske will be held from 3 to 6 p.m., Sunday, July 30 at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, 2001 Colorado Blvd.
Liske, 35, graduated from East High School in 2000. He died April 24 in Moscow, Russia, where he was an actor, director, musician and composer.
As an undergraduate at Dartmouth College, Liske directed the college’s oldest a cappella group, the Dartmouth Aires. He was one of the first Americans to graduate from the Moscow Art Theatre School in 2009, and the first American invited to teach at the school. In addition to English, he was fluent in Russian and Italian. He frequently taught at the National Theater Institute at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center in Connecticut.
He is survived by his wife Polina Grishina and their son, Oliver; his mother, Katy Shaw and stepfather, John Shaw of Park Hill; stepsisters Lisa Shaw (Joel Bass) and Erin Clark (Ed Clark); and his stepmother C.L. Harmer (Daniel Muse). He leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. His father Craig Liske preceded him in death in 1988.
