Calling All Artists
Open Studio Tour Benefits ARK
The Art Garage, as part of its fundraiser for its Art Reaching Kids program (ARK), is seeking artists who would like to join the fun at its Fourth Annual Open Studio Tour.
The mission of ARK is to provide art programs that heal, inspire and empower individuals facing adversity.
The Open Studio Tour is scheduled for Oct.14 and 15, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. During past tours, participating artists have enjoyed meeting the public to share and sell their art. Neighbors have enjoyed getting to know and support their local artists, as well seeing where and how art is created.
There are two ways for artists to participate. An artist can open his or her studio space for public viewing of their art. This could be an indoor or outdoor space. If an artist doesn’t feel their space lends itself to visitors or does not have space in Park Hill, s/he could be a guest of another artist and share exhibit space. This way we will increase the number of artist participants, making it more inviting for the public to join.
Artists are required to participate both days, pay $50 to the Art Garage to cover the costs of signage and maps/flyers, and contribute a donation of 10 percent of their sales for the weekend to the ARK program.
Applications are available at the Art Garage, 6100 E. 23rd Ave., and online at www.artgaragedenver.com. Deadline for applications is July 15. Questions should be directed to Katie Duncan at 303-377-2353.
